Pre-acceptance for SIH - January 2009
SIH, a joint venture between SAIC (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation), IVECO and Hongyan, is located in China – Chongqing. This new facility will soon manufacture vehicles in the heavy truck range for export to other markets.
Efficient manufacturing of heavy truck vehicles requires a SOENEN punching line! SIH is forecasting an annual production of 80.000 trucks (= 160.000 punched beams) and ordered 2 SOENEN punching lines to fulfill their requirements. These lines will punch nonstop in 3 shifts with a guaranteed availability of 95%.
The pre-acceptance protocol was signed within 1,5 days and the line was working according to the contract specifications. A beam with 251 holes was punched within a cycle time of 170 seconds and 212 holes (or 84 %) were punched together (instead of 66 % mentioned in the contract).
SIH ordered 2 punching installations with 5 punching units for U-beams with constant sections: 2 presses of 63 T and 1 press of 180 T for web punching, 2 presses of 50 T for left and right flange punching, 3 slide feeders and 2 bridges for loading and unloading.
