3D Punching line for long members
U-beams or chassis long-member manufactured by press-forming or roll forming can be punched by a 3D Soenen punching line. The chassis rails can have a constant or a variable section. Holes in the top (web) & side (flanges) surfaces are hydraulically punched, hence the name 3D punching. Continuous online measuring of each U-beam or side member, guarantees high accuracy punching in X, Y & Z-direction.
When a long member with variable section requires punching each punching unit can be equipped with an optional rotation function. This allows fast action punching in the angled sections of the web or flange of the variable sections of the truck chassis rail.
Load and unload cycles can be completely automated and connected to your material flow. These automated load cycles are in sync with your punching cycles. This allows for a higher productivity rate and a more efficient just-in-time production.
The increased flexibility when compared to conventional press line is result of a tailored punch configuration. Holes can be punched in grid and simultaneously depending on the machine configuration.
All 3D punching lines for U-beams are adapted to handle the product range specified by the customer and its heavy duty truck port-folio.
